Spring Season Goalkeeper Academy!

NOTE:

David Wiebenga will be offering an 8-week Spring GK Academy for serious keepers u9-u12.

Academy will be inside (sometimes outside) at MVP from 6-7pm on the following dates:

February 26th

March 4th, 11th and 25th

April 1st, 8th, 15th and 22nd

Cost:

8-Weeks:       $120, KC Select kids receive a $40               

                           discount if sign up for the 8-week session.

5-Weeks:         $60

Individual:       $30

Academy will be a comprehensive program designed to progress students through a variety of GK skills and techniques:

• Diving
• Catching
• Crosses
• Breakaways
• Distribution
• Deflections
• Conditioning
• Angles
• Decision Making
• Footwork
• etc.......

Dear Parents and Keepers,

First, I am excited to direct the Elite Coaching Academy and anxious to work with goalkeepers in the Kansas City area.  Unlike most goalkeeper camps and academies, my work with Elite will focus more on the individual age groups and players.   The older goalkeepers (12-18) will have a primary focus on refining the basics and learning advanced techniques.  These areas include advanced foot work, goalkeeper fitness, power diving, forward diving, rythm work, deflecting, moving backwards, distribution, dealing with angles, mental preparation, plyometrics, and distribution.  Older goalkeepers will also recieve an evaluation at the end of the month to take back to their team.  

In essence, I hope to offer the goalkeepers of the Elite academy more than just a "camp" atmosphere.  I want to provide them with the training they need to improve their game.

David's background includes:

• Played professionally for the Calgary Storm in the USL A League and Arizona Suahros of the USL Pro Select League.
• David played collegiately at Truman State University where he earned 1st team All Conference honors and set several school goalkeeper records.
• He is currently the Head Varsity Soccer Coach at Lee's Summit High School
